• Monthly curriculum

This curriculum was adapted from our original Courageous Conversations held 2019-2020 among the three founding groups, StarkFresh, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. It has been field-tested and is designed to take place in a social gathering where food is provided as a common currency to make people feel welcome.

A warning of sorts, proper use of the curriculum will create situations of extreme emotion from participants as it creates a safe format for one to look inward and assess their own beliefs. This curriculum has been known to create strong, personal bonds with other participants and propel you on a journey of soul and information-seeking opportunities. This curriculum is taught through guided facilitation by CCORR alumni (CCORRA) several times throughout the year. If interested in participating or learning more click the button below

  • Social Justice Book Club

The Social Justice Book Club was born out of an innate desire to further expand our understanding of the issues that we were discussing during our curriculum conversations. We understand that to fully share experiences, different perspectives deriving from different mediums need to be explored. Books are chosen by the club and the books cover all genres of literature. Partial book scholarships are available to active book club members. There is no cost to join the book club.

  • Action Groups

Sometimes participating in change doesn’t come from reinventing the wheel, many times it comes from supporting small efforts already happening within your community. Far too often we find that great work is being done right under our nose and it’s nearly impossible to find these”best-kept-secrets” in your community. We’ve compiled groups and projects that are taking the “next step” and doing real, meaningful work to better the greater Stark County community. We hope you will take the time to visit them and support their work.
